THE MOON TOLD ME SO / PLUPERFECT /

SITTING IN A PUDDLE / BACKSTREETS OF INFINITY

THE MOON TOLD ME SO

This song was written in 2005 in Devon. Originally the lyrics were about John Lennon (bless him) but somehow mutated. So did the instrumentation; it started off on marimba, migrated to piano, and finally to accordion and cello. We put everything through the autotune to make it wonky.   Vocals Darlini: ‘Cello Grahame and accordion Alig.

PLUPERFECT

This is from an impossible to find obscure 80s vinyl single released in Switzerland. If anyone can identify it and find a copy, I’ll come round and cook you a 4-course gourmet meal, and play mood music on the accordion. Asita Hamidi concert harp (Check her on Youtube): Victor de Bros vocal: Brigitte Belleville vocal: Alig  MIDI instruments

SITTING IN A PUDDLE

Here’s something for the anoraks! Spliced together from three different masters at three different speeds. The main instrument is that homemade low mbira that I bought in a street market in Italy. Man! It really hurts the thumbs – basic design fault. Recorded in Totnes, Norwich and Crete – with vocal overdubs at Leeder’s Farm. Vocals Mae Karthorse and Darlini: mbira Alig. Some of the percussion is lifted from a remix I did for the excellent The Chap: Nevertheless (Loaf Records).  An alternative version with just Darlini on vocals available from our website.

BACKSTREETS OF INFINITY

Get this! Recorded in the province of Cuneo – the part of Italy where nothing ever happens.  Alig: vocals and acoustic guitar. At the end you can hear an overdub on my old Les Paul Custom. I had to sell it to my brother in law when I was going bankrupt. Engineered by the wonderful Fausto Balbo.

Alig Fodder: vocals, guitars, oud, keyboards, electronics, percussion

Mae Karthauser: vocals, keyboards.  Darlini Singh-Kaul: vocals, percussion, keys

Grahame Painting: guitars, cello, drums  Professor Zoom: vocals    Bill Brand: vocals
